Midland basset Hound Club Judging Criteria

A1 List

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CC’s in the breed and have the support of the Midland Basset Hound Club (MBHC).

A2 List

For persons who fulfil the requirements for the A3 List and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on the A2 Lists and have the support of the MBHC.

A3 List (Breed Specialist)

1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have support of the MBHC.
2. To have judged one breed club show.
3. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes.
4. To have judged a minimum of 150 dogs.
5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedure.
6. To have attended a seminar on Conformation and Movement given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
7. To have attended a Conformation and Movement ‘hands-on’ Assessment conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
8. To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where appropriate.
9. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st enter in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
10. To have stewarded over a minimum of period of 3 years and at 12 shows.

A3 List (Non Specialist)

1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in Basset Hounds) and have support of the MBHC.
2. To have judged one Basset Hound breed club show.
3. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes.
4. To have judged a minimum of 150 dogs.
5. To have awarded CC’s in at least one other Breed.
6. To have attended at least 2 Basset Hound Breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where appropriate.
7. To have stewarded over a minimum of period of 3 years and at 12 shows. N/A if covered by item 5.
8. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their 1st enter in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).

B List (Breed Specialist)

1. To have 5 years judging experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have support of the MBHC.
2. To have judged 15 classes of this breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s.
3. To have judged 45 dogs of this breed or at the Committee’s discretion.
4. To have attended 1 Basset Hound Club Judging Seminar.

B List (Non Specialist)

1. To have 5 years judging experience in any one breed and have support of the MBHC.
2. To have judged 20 classes of Basset Hounds at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s. (save for exceptional circumstances)
3. To have judged 50 dogs of Basset Hounds.
4. To have attended 1 Basset Hound Club Judging Seminar.

C List (Breed Specialist)

For aspirant judges who have hown an interest in the breed and have support of the MBHC.

C List (Non Specialist)

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have support of the MBHC.

Application to be included on the MBHC Judging List

If you wish to be included on the Midland Basset Hound Club Judging List you must forward a copy of your Judging CV to The Secretary. The Midland Basset Hound Club Judging Criteria will give you a guide to the requirements to move up the list.

Personal Details

• Name
• Address
• Telephone / Mobile No
• E-mail address

PLEASE NOTE: Your contact details will be published in our on-line judging list unless you specify otherwise.

History

• A brief history of your involvement with the Basset Hound. Include any notable achievements.

Stud Book Numbers

• List your most resent Stud book numbers. List Basset Hounds first followed by other breeds.

Seminars and Kennel Club Examinations Attended

• List any Kennel Club and Breed Specific seminars you have attended. Remember to include a copy of any certificate you may have been awarded.

Judging

• Include a brief outline of any judging you have done. This will be covered in detail in your Judging Records.

Stewarding

• Include a brief outline of any stewarding you have done.

Judging Records

Your judging records should be split into Basset Hounds on one list, and Other Breeds on another. Each list should contain the following information:

Date of show
Name of society
Type of Show (e.g. Limit/Open/Championsgip)
Breed of Dog judged (if not the Basset Hound)
Number of classes judged
Number of dogs entered
Number of dogs judged
